Ours is the largest office in the United States, with over 500 lawyers representing all of our legal practice groups. We operate at the intersection of business and regulation, with a deep understanding of how geopolitics, political risks, and regulatory issues affect industry. The Washington, D.C. office is also home to the firm’s largest practice groups—Corporate & Finance, Global Regulatory, and Litigation—as well as to our pro bono practice, which in 2020 celebrated 50 years of bringing legal representation to the people and communities that need it most.
We represent clients from almost every business sector at every stage of the business lifecycle, from small start-ups to long-established commercial giants with the biggest global footprints. We coordinate with our global network of lawyers to obtain the representation you need. So no matter your business, your size, or your stage—whether you need representation at trial, within federal agencies, at the negotiating table, or with key figures in government—our team of lawyers in Washington can help.
We consistently challenge ourselves to focus our time, skills, and resources to create a world-leading pro bono practice. Our commitment to pro bono and responsible business is a strategic priority for the firm, and the DC office dedicates significant lawyer hours each year in pursuit of a lasting impact for those most in need of our help.
We partner with Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture, located in Alexandria, Virginia, where we volunteer with hands on projects and organize regular fundraisers in support of their efforts. In addition, we host an annual meal packing event to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank and generally pack over 30,000 meals for those in need. We also partner with Alzheimer’s Association, Calvary Meal Service, DC Scores, and Lawyers Have a Heart, to name a few.
Our culture is intentionally different – we are high-performing, collaborative, and supportive. While we hold ourselves to high standards of client service, what sets us apart is a shared commitment to mentorship, teamwork, and investing in one another’s success.
