We work with our client’s and their environmental consultants to define the scope of their audits, to assess compliance, and develop corrective actions and management system recommendations. We maximize your ability to maintain the confidentiality of the audit and to seek penalty mitigation under various laws of the countries in which we operate, including the U.S. and the EPA’s Self-Audit Policy and New Owner Policy.
We also assist clients with the design and auditing of their environmental management systems and in connection with internal reviews, which often involve high-stakes matters where the company and managers face multimillion dollar penalties and criminal exposure under broad environmental laws.
Representative experience
Represented several cable companies in nationwide audits of compliance with environmental laws that resulted in EPA waiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in civil penalties.
Internally reviewed manufacturing plant’s sampling practices, disclosed violations without penalty, advised on corrective actions, and negotiated settlement with the prior owner to pay for the corrective actions.
Before EPA began multi-media inspections of 23 newly-acquired chemical plants, we audited and removed from potential penalties over 800 identified issues in just three months.
Designed, audited, and modified environmental management systems for clients, including companies engaged in hazardous waste management, lead recycling, automotive manufacturing, and telecommunications.
